This really popped out at me this morning starting in 2 Peter 5-9. If we are lacking in virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness, brotherly kindness, it is not a matter of us "trying harder" but we have just forgotten that we are cleansed from our old sins. We have forgotten that we are righteous in Christ! Anyone else struggle with this? Instead of trying to "do better" I will focus on who I am in Christ today and what he has done for me at the cross. So freeing! Whose with me?
