Helping Others Progress Equally

Do you know who this is in the picture below? He might be the biggest name you've never heard when it comes to racism. His name is Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, a German anthropologist and he invented the idea of 5 different "races" of humans, classified with colors.. White (european), Black (african), Red (native american), Yellow (asian), and Brown (pacific islanders). He claimed that Caucasians were the "original" race from Adam and Eve. His theory was that other races came about by degeneration from environmental factors, but that in the proper environmental control, they could reverse this degeneration and return to looking like Caucasians.

You heard that right.

This kind of insanity, passed off as science, had huge influence on the racist ideologies of the United States and Germany in the early 19th century. The NFL's Washington "Redskins" give one example that his theories are still influencing us today.

The other picture tells the truth about humankind. The color code of humanity consists of different shades of brown, based on where our ancestors lived. If your ancestors lived in a warmer climate, you have darker brown skin. If your ancestors lived in a colder climate, you have lighter brown skin. That's it. We are ALL simply different shades of brown. No black, white, yellow, or red.

Maybe, some day, we will see each other according to the truth and not according to an old, misguided theory.

And here is the truth...we are all brothers and sisters, part of the same human race, in different shades of brown.
