I made my first table almost 20 years ago. My wife wanted a butcher block table for her kitchen. This started my fascination and study of table construction. My motto has always been do it right or don't do it at all. I started researching construction techniques, wood expansion and how to make a table last a lifetime. Fast forward a few years, my wife asked for a 8 foot long dining room table. I spent the next year lying on the floors at friends houses, furniture showrooms and anywhere else I could find a table to study. From that I came up with the sturdiest and most efficient seating table I could. After ten years I've made some adjustments but I still haven't changed my original design.
