Raising Rari

Someone asked me about Raris condition.

Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a chronic lung disease that primarily affects premature infants. It develops when underdeveloped lungs require prolonged oxygen therapy or mechanical ventilation, causing inflammation and scarring. While there is no cure, most infants gradually outgrow symptoms as they develop new lung tissue.

Who it affects: Mainly babies born prematurely (usually more than 10 weeks early) or those weighing less than two pounds at birth.

My quick summary: His lungs didn't come in they are still growing. I had him extremely early and he was a micro preemie, weighing less than 1 pound at birth. As they grow he'll breathe better and eventually have his trach taken out and be off of the vent and oxygen.

Home Update!

Rari has been doing great! He has had nursing everyday since he's been discharged and that's a blessing!!!! He goes to Kidz Club M-F and some Saturdays. He loves daycare and the staff. He already has one nurse that he adores there. He has 3 home nurse currently two night and one day. They all play music for him constantly and have built a bond with him. Its truly beautiful to watch 😭.

He's been teething, he loves Bluey and loves YouTube! He still hates his head being touched and still likes sweet potatoes and is working on eating more by mouth. He is trying to stand and is think will skip crawling. He likes looking out the window in his room and his dragon is his favorite toy. He out grew his fish 😭...

He went to brunch last Sunday for his first outing and we were out over 5 hours. He did good but was exhausted after meeting a lot of family. His next outing will be the science center and the zoo! Stay tuned and continue to keep Rari in your prayers. We have a long road ahead but we both are more than ready.

The daycare bus picked Rari up playing Chris Brown for him!!!! Chris is his favorite music artist and calms him completely down as soon as you cut it on!!! We play Chris Browns greatest hits every single day. His first bus ride was a success!!!

Welcome to "Rari's Elephant Sanctuary". 🐘 Both of his great grandmother's loved elephants and to honor them (both are deceased). I created an elephant sanctuary as his nursey theme. Feel free to mail us an elephant and name it for us to add to his sanctuary. We currently have a few. One of our elephants "Taco" lol lights up. I appreciate the love and can't wait to get an elephant from everyone. He will grow with them and keep them his whole life to remember his journey. 🐘

Daycare kicked his butt today 🤣 He went to sleep as soon as he got home and he's just now waking up lmbo.

When PawPaw takes you to daycare for your first day!!!!

Today we did our discharge conference and when I say I am so proud of my son. When I walk out those doors with this little human that I grew. Those tears that I'm going to cry our whole ride home. Shall water his dreams, drown his doubts and fill up his cup of life until he wants no more.
