Hello! Dropping my 1990s self in feeds today to remind us:
- arrested development was a band before it was a tv show

- superman is still a legitimately good ice cream choice

- lasting joy is found outside with skinned knees

- we grow up and forget to dream and think too much about scheduling logistics and meal planning --- 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

but inside:
peace is always accessible,
our dreams are never gone,
and our thoughts can always wander,
we just need to stop trying so hard to get there.

Opinions (especially from someone else) get us all walled up. The place beneath opinion / belief / conviction / culture is where I like to explore. Inside those depths, life stories are revealed, and that is where we all can meet.

Wishing everyone more flow, patience, and persistence in 2022. Let's wear away the stone together.

Yes! This is it *exactly.* ^^

The reason for the duress and panic that brought me to starting a business wasn't one thing, or a few things. It was the culmination of everything: a baby on the way, a newly one-income household, a mortgage and a minivan, the both reasonable and unreasonable confines of being someone's employee, the itch to keep after my life's purpose, a deep and profound shift in understanding who I am, the hope of carrying on my family's legacy of entrepreneurship for my 3 young girls to see.

So it was this: a pressure cooker of life changing circumstances and purpose-driven factors, being met with what so many of us who have lived years on this planet come to possess: fireclay - that birthed my company, Bachmeyer Press.

The work is curvy and windy. It's more work this day and less that day. It's deciding what to do, and not always *doing* for a work week and a salary. It's slowly evolving.

The work is my own. It's also largely collaborative. It depends on a bunch of good people who like what I offer, and so far some super gratifying serendipity. And for now, I get to wake up knowing that I am telling stories that celebrate all kinds of transformation happening in our schools, churches, disability agencies, and neighborhoods. Founded on my values, grown out of my life's work, and designed with my family at the center, I frequently call gratitude to the pressure that led to this new carved path.
