“Is she halter broke?”
“Will she stand still while I clean her ears with a Q-tip and braid her tail with highlights?”
Ma’am… she’s a cow, not a show pony from Pinterest. 😅

Listen, dairy cows are not starter pets. If you’ve never owned cattle, please don’t start with a Jersey that just freshened. You saw one TikTok of a lady milking in a sundress and now you think you’re about to live your best farm girl dream — until Bessie wakes up cranky and decides you’re the problem.

What’s your plan when your “sweet baby angel” who lays in your lap on sunny days decides she’s in a mood and wants to mow you over? Or when she calves at 2 AM in the mud and you’re standing there Googling “why is milk coming out weird”?

If you don’t have the experience, facilities, or equipment, a dairy cow will humble you real quick. Go volunteer on a farm, learn first — don’t impulse buy a 1,200-lb animal because you think she’ll “fit in with the goats.”

Bessie deserves better than a TikTok dream gone wrong. 💁‍♀️🐄
