Grade 4 students participate in an “Adapt an Animal” project in which they creatively combine two animals to design a new, imaginary species. Through this project, students explore and describe their animal’s diet, habitat, physical adaptations, and behaviors. They demonstrate their learning by drawing and labeling detailed illustrations, constructing models, and choosing to present their work through either a poster or a slideshow presentation. Each year, the quality and creativity of the projects continue to improve, reflecting strong student engagement and deeper understanding of animal adaptations.
