But mercy broke through and pulled me back to the light.
Police at my feet, Grandma cryin’ my name,
Mama’s voice tremblin’, but God stepped in that frame.

My legs felt like bricks, couldn’t rise, couldn’t stand,
But grace reached down with an invisible hand.
Doctor said, “You were dying, slow and still,”
But I was already covered by the Lord’s will.

Now twenty-something years since that breath was almost gone,
I’ve learned every scar is proof I still belong.
I don’t look to people; I look to the hills,
Where help still flows and my purpose still builds.

I’m not who I was when that pain had me numb,
I’m a walking, talking “Look what God has done.”
So when they ask how I made it, how I’m still alive,
