Bucktown Academy

The Sprouts classroom celebrated the culmination of their ‘Backyard Birds’ unit with a special bird picnic. We made a bird feeder together, read a few of our favorite stories, and enjoyed a snack as a classroom at the park. We talked about everything we learned in the last few weeks and went bird watching as well! We spotted a robin in the trees and listened to its calling. It was a wonderful morning in nature! 💚🐦🌱

💚 Saplings: Our older preschool students have been studying various mediums of art and learning about artists such as Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, and Georges Seurat.

💚 Sprouts: Our younger students started a new ‘Backyard Birds’ unit and have been studying robin nests. Our little ornithologists have begun identifying and learning about robins, cardinals, blue jays, crows and much more!

💚 School Community: We started planting in our classrooms! Our students will care for the seeds as they grow into sprouts and eventually, get transferred into our Learning Garden. This years theme — Fairy Garden! 🧚🏻
