CPPF's Monthly Update - August 2025
https://mailchi.mp/8bef3a14af3a/2025august

Greetings, Friends of the Prairie,

While we continue our efforts in summer to remove invasive plants from the Prairie, it's yet another season in our year to enjoy all the small spectacles that it offers. As volunteers search, pull, clip and bag, there's time to pause and take in the little things. (Please see images and descriptions.)

Native Prairie Plant Walks
Naturalist Kay McClelland leads Chiwaukee Prairie Walks once a month through October. Information includes a little history, a little geology and lots of plant names and facts. Over the months you will look at and identify more than 100 different flowering plants, grasses, and some sedges. There will likely be a plant list available each time as well as occasional other handouts. Mark your calendars for the remaining two dates of the year!
Walks are on the first Saturdays from 9 AM to 11 AM.

September 6, October 4

Meet at the intersection of 121st Street and 2nd Avenue. Park on 2nd Avenue.

Wear good walking shoes or boots and long pants. Sunscreen, insect repellent for possible ticks, and a hat are wise. We go in light rain but not if there is lightning. Questions: 262.994.1939 (mobile) or [email protected]
