Last month, I made a trip to my alma mater, UIC, for a special convocation with my brother Rhymefest and Angela V. Benson. We screened the short film for my visual album ‘ALKEBULAN II’ and then had a deep discussion about Africa, how music impacts the landscape of the world, and the responsibilities that we carry as artists to inspire positive change. Thank you Rhymefest for moderating and sharing your wisdom, and a huge thank you to UIC School of Theatre and Music for the hospitality and warm welcome 🙏🏽🖤 felt good to share this special moment with everyone in my hometown.
