I’ve gotta hand it to Miguel.
He sought help, remained diligent, patient, and embraced the process!
To say that this was one of the most banged up shoulders that I’ve evaluated in my career might still be an understatement. 🥴
Miguel presented to me with 3 goals:

✅ Eliminate Pain
✅ Resume Bench Pressing SAFELY
Hard work, sessions of manual work, education, and reframing his Movement Prep & Training regimen started to move the needle, increment function, and minimize pain. 🙌
His diligence, grit, showing up, and no excuses are what carried him to this point and shall serve him well progressing forward. Miggy made my WEEK today, when he was able to get on the bench, grab a pair of Dumbbells (not a Barbell to foster more natural and healthier mechanics with his lift), and achieved a stimulus necessary aligned with all our mutual goals! 🫵

Those 4 exercises preceding the Bench Pressing are not some “Magic 4,” but part of a compendium of a dozen or so keen Movement Prep stuff that ought be done for successful Bench Pressing to AVOID INJURY & OPTIMIZE PERFORMANCE. 🙌
Dynamic Hip Flexor Mobility UNDER LOAD
Adding LOAD during helps take better OWNERSHIP of that NECESSARY end range mobility.
Here, is performing 1/2 Kneeling Quad & Hip Flexor Stretch while using both hands to raise a KB overhead (OH). This OH lift with load LENGTHENS the Hip Flexors, Abdominals, DECREASES ANTERIOR PELVIC TILT, & DECOMPRESSES your LUMBAR SPINE! 👍
During the OH loaded raise, Kyle is reaching in 3 different directions to bias all fibers of his Hip Flexor Musculature.
To intensify the quad mobility & better incriminate the hip flexor 🎯 elevate the rear leg on a chair to really feel that LENGTHENING in from of your hip, like Kyle Sherman indicates through his interjections. 😮
