The Blonde In Front
's screening at the Music Box Theatre on March 5th was one of my favorite post Q&A and intro with Landecker's introduction and the post moderated by Chicago legend and Landecker's father and actor who has an introducing title in the film. Another impressive feature film screenwriting and directorial debut for 2026, For Worse is my favorite Coming of Middle age film that actually has something for everyone in every generation. Learn, laugh and love as an audience member and maybe a little bit about your own life that if it's not for better, it could be far more for worse. It's available to rent on Prime Video and I say check it out.

🎂On May 15, 1981 “Happy Birthday to Me” was released in theaters! Directed by J. Lee Thompson (director of the original Cape Fear) and starring Melissa Sue Anderson, and Glenn Ford. Its plot revolves around six brutal murders occurring around a popular high school senior's birthday. The film's special make-up effects were done by Tom Burman, who replaced Stéphan Dupuis just three weeks before the cameras were due to start rolling. It also features Lawrence Dane, Sharon Acker, Frances Hyland, Tracey Bregman, Matt Craven, Jack Blum, Lenore Zann, Lesleh Donaldson, and Lisa Langlois. The MPAA originally gave Happy Birthday to Me an X rating, resulting in Columbia Pictures truncating some of its gorier sequences in order to allow for an R rating. Bo Harwood and Lance Rubin provided the film's score. Syreeta, one-time wife of Stevie Wonder, provided the closing credits track.🎂
