Princes of Florence, Bohnanza and Bridges of Shangri-la hit the table last night. All 3 certified classics in my book. I will play these games anytime they are suggested. Bridges continues to shine as I get more plays. It’s another one in the vein of opaque decision space that narrows as the game progresses. Really enjoy exploring these games that have so much depth and nuance to them.

Blood on the Clocktower with my gaming group is always a great time! Evil 😈 managed to sneak out the win with just too much suspicion between the drunk (chef) and virgin. We also managed to sneak in some Mahjong and Medina! What have you been playing lately?!

What an absolutely wonderful weekend filled with amazing people and lots of fun gaming. We had a little house con where friends old and new gathered to play some games and we had an absolutely amazing time. Highlights were playing Twilight Imperium, so much Medina and getting to deepen friendships with a lot of wonderful people I interact with online.

The best thing about board games is the people! I meet more and more amazing people I am excited to call friends every con I go to!

Getting ready for a gaming cabin weekend! Have missed game nights for a bit - going to be amazing to see friends and dive into some games.

San Marco and Night Soil hit the gaming table last night. San Marco was fantastic. It really nails “I cut you choose” in a way that the making of lots is satisfying and what you are doing with those lots when you clam them are great. I love this mechanism but usually the splitting is boring or what you do with your wares is boring. Wonderful 3p game to bring out more often!

What an absolutely amazing first campaign to launch our company. You haven’t seen the last from us. We are just getting started. Time to get this game into all your hands now.

Container + Bested Another Time. Two absolutely top tier games. I can never get enough of Taylor Reiner’s designs when it comes to trick taking and shedding. Just such a deep understanding of the fundamental reasons these games work and can create simple twists that turn all your heuristics on its head, while still being incredibly accessible.

Container is an absolutely amazing economic game and system and I can’t wait until more people start playing this when the gorgeous copy hits shelves. Although I’ll never give up my Jumbo edition!

I like big boats and I cannot lie.

Game night (and I remembered to take pictures this time 😂). We started with a really old Kramer (Bike About!) that was a childhood fave of Dan. Then we quickly broke out the silly Mr. Diamond 💎. Finally we got Vanuatu to the table - the action selection and resolution is brutal! I’m not sure where I land on this one. I really love the action selection, but all the ex*****on is pretty mid. But it’s the simplicity of the ex*****on that makes it more apparent what people want to accomplish during action selection.

What games hit your table this week?!

Dië Handler. Fun time and filled with lots of shared incentives. Ran a bit long - but had some fun levers to play around with. We didn’t play with the negotiation variant, but feels like that would potentially elevate the game for me. As it is, would happily play again and I could see it growing on me a bit more given how dynamic it is. Just wish it clicked in about 30-40 minutes quicker!

Funded in just 14 minutes. It’s a whirlwind right now, but we are over the moon excited about this.
