Fig Tree Counseling

Please welcome our new Fig Tree Therapist in training, Melina Vanni-González (she/her). Melina is coloring her MSW training at the University of Chicago and understands that all identities are intersectional, overlapping, and complex and that sometimes we can feel distressed when our social environments don’t allow us for space to be our whole selves. As a member of the Venezuelan diaspora, Melina brings with her a deep understanding of the mental health effects of migration, displacement, and political violence. Melina’s therapeutic practice is still developing, but is so far rooted in liberation psychology, family systems, and third wave behavioral modalities. Melina uses a strengths-based and holistic approach and seeks to create a collaborative, empathic environment for her clients. Melina is currently accepting BCBS PPO and $50 starting sliding scale.
