I often hear the following: ‘I’ve done so much work on my own, how come that the moment l enter a relationship wounds that I thought were healed come to the surface?”

A healthy relationship is the place where wounds, traumas, and triggers can be revealed, accepted, and healed.

Because no matter how much healing you do on your own, some wounds can only be healed in a healthy, loving, growth-focused relationship.

This doesn’t mean you have failed. This means you are taking your healing and awakening to an even higher level and you’re doing so because you are partnering with someone who is on that same journey and path.

The term “high maintenance” has a very poor reputation in our society. That poor reputation has been given to women with standards by low value men - men who are unable or unwilling to meet the standards of a woman who does not waiver or relinquish her standards. The low-value man is frustrated that she will not lower her standards for him.

So he has taken the term “high maintenance” and turned it into a woman who is angry, doesn’t work for what she wants, is disrespectful and disagreeable.

He turns her into the woman who is only after being “maintained” financially.

But here is the thing - most women maintain themselves financially to some degree in our society. We find it liberating and freeing to pursue our own goals and to be compensated for our skills.

Being high maintenance is much more than financial. It means having a standard of living met, yes, but also partnering with a masculine that provides intellectually, spiritually, relationally, emotionally and psychologically.

The high maintenance woman is also a high value woman. Each woman determines what that means for her.

But here is something interesting - high value men are also high maintenance. They want to grow and build with a feminine who invests in them just as much as they invest in her.

So although he must be meeting her standards, he also has his own and he must be maintaining his in order to keep her.

The more the feminine raises her standards, the higher quality men she has access to.

The dark feminine needs the light feminine.

The light feminine cannot survive without the dark feminine.

These are two energetic dualities of the divine feminine.
