ST. CHARLES COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has reopened the Interstate 64 North Outer Road/Technology Drive bridge at Dardenne Creek Tuesday, June 2. The outer road and bridge were closed in August 2025 for a bridge replacement.

This project was a joint effort between the City of O'Fallon, Great Rivers Greenway, and MoDOT. The reconstruction effort included a 12-foot-wide shared use path facility across the bridge structure. Construction continues on the planned 10-foot path sections connected to the parking lot area, existing paths and future path extensions by the City of O’Fallon. This connection is a vital part of the overall regional connectivity for Great Rivers Greenway through St. Charles County with ultimate connectivity planned to the Katy Trail.

The new bridge and outer road elevation were raised 5-6 feet to move the structure further out of the floodplain of Dardenne Creek.

Be aware of possible delays heading eastbound on Interstate 70 in Warren County as motorists make their way towards the St. Louis region.

Pavement Repair Work Planned (MM 197.6 to 199.8) - June 2-4

SCHEDULED LANE CLOSURES: Pavement Repair Work on Eastbound I-70 in Warren Co.
Weather permitting, the left lane of eastbound I-70 is scheduled to close for proactive pavement repairs in the following locations:
· COMPLETE - MM 191.4 to 193.4 (Rte. MM/Warrenton Blvd. to MO 47 in Warrenton) - beginning at 7 p.m. on Thurs, May 28 through 9 a.m. on Sat, May 30
· UPDATE - MM 197.6 to 199.8 (Wright City Rest Area to just west of Route F/J/Elm Street) - beginning on 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2 through 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 4
Delays on I-70 are expected during these temporary closures. To alleviate congestion, motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
