Labradorite is always one of my favorites, one of the most unique stones as it can be any color it likes and it glows from within, so mystical. This one is paired with a little black spinel, oxidized sterling and 14kGF. Wonderful day at the market and today the fun continues. It's so nice to see everyone come back and visit with old friends and new. Beautiful weather on hand for today so a perfect time to wander and discover what's new. Have a great day, explore and discover what excites you!
Inuit legend tells that the Northern Lights were once trapped in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. A warrior supposedly struck the rocks with his spear to free the lights, though some remained trapped within the stones. The spiritual meaning of labradorite is fundamentally rooted in transformation, protection, and inner sight. Known as the "Stone of Magic," it is a favorite among healers and spiritual seekers for its ability to clear mental debris and reveal one's true potential.
Labradorite is a striking plagioclase feldspar mineral renowned for its spectacular iridescent play of colors known as labradorescence. While the stone itself often has a dark gray or black base, moving it in the light reveals shimmering flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, and sometimes rare copper-reds. This unique "frozen fire" effect is not a surface pigment but a physical phenomenon caused by light diffracting between microscopic mineral layers inside the stone.
