A few people have wondered aloud why I describe my fiction as "optimistic", despite people still having problems and complaining about things in it.

They fundamentally don't get it.

Theft of Fire, and the whole Orbital Space series, is about a future where we conquer the solar system and leave all the low-IQ DEI retards back on Earth.

Sure, there would still be problems. People are people. Any story where the right civilization solves everything isn't a story, it's just propaganda.

But how is conquering the entire solar system, creating AI with a soul, and seizing the DNA reins of life itself not a series of magnificent triumphs for humanity?

Answer: it is.

Don't get too stuck in the perspectives of the characters. Redemption arcs have to start with someone who needs redemption.
