REPOST from yesterday: Since we got an extended day due to (leap year), I want to acknowledge various African American pioneers that I’ve been reading about this month who are not mentioned too often. Each one of their stories and the impact they created within their career, business or as an entrepreneur has definitely been inspiring.
Swipe right ➡️to see who they are and check out the deets below to learn more about their impact.

1. Marie Van Brittan Brown- created the first modern in- home security system that was patented in 1966.
2. Dr. Shirley Jackson- helped invent the technologies known as fiber optics cables, fax machines and caller ID. Also she is the first african american woman to receive a PhD in physics/doctorate in any subject from MIT.
3. Alexander Miles- Invented a system for elevator doors to open and close automatically. He also founded the United Brotherhood, a life insurance company catering to the African American population.
4. Jane Bolin- was the first black woman to attend Yale Law School. She was also the first black female judge in the US serving for 10 years.

Although it’s the end of the month, I still want to acknowledge various African American pioneers who are not mentioned often such as other black leaders. Each one of their stories and the impact they created within their career, business or as an entrepreneur has definitely been inspiring.

Anybody any in need of a vacay yet?🙋🏾‍♀️
I’ve been reminiscing about my short trip to the mountains from two weeks ago. Honestly, visiting the mountains is absolutely one of my favorite places on earth. This trip was definitely a great escape to re-invigorate myself, enjoy beautiful views, and spend quality time with my love💚.

Sometimes we just need to get away from the everyday life routine by traveling, going to a new space or doing something different. New spaces or sceneries always help me to show up better when feeling overwhelmed or exhausted.

What is something you like to do or a space you enjoy when feeling overwhelmed? Looking for more tips⬇️

Reap7 is finally back! Although the new year started, it was necessary for me extend my season of recharge.💆🏾‍♀️

In the meantime, I’ve still been taking time out to:
Reflect- On last year and other areas in my life that need attention
Rest- My body 💤
Read- Started “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brene’ Brown with friends 📖
Renew- My mindset (to start the new decade off with fresh perspectives) 🧠
AND
Re-prioritize- My focus and goals 📝

Before RE-committing to anything! So if you have not started on anything yet don’t feel bad because you’re not alone...We have time!
