P.O.P. Dog Training

This is Ripley, the behavioral case I’m working with. She has a weird obsession with cars. This was after our 2nd public outing, and this is the hardest she’s bit me. We had a great outing with no issues. When we arrive back home is when she flips a switch. I’ve had her a little over a week and we have made some insane progress. I’ll be posting a week 1 update in the next couple days. She is a sweetheart and we are best friends now, but there are some serious issues with the car and the couch. She is fearfully aggressive with people. There are only a select few people that have been able to get near or pet her. I’m able to handle her in anyway and she is totally fine now. She even met my wife and loves to get affection from her too. Follow her training journey on my stories and posts. We are just getting started.

Macy was an insecure girl that was unsure of people. She would hide behind her owner, coward down or try to run away from people. She lived with me for 6 weeks and she really opened up! Within a day, she was my best friend and played with me. I didn’t expect her to open up to me that quick, so I thought maybe she isn’t as insecure as we thought. Come to find out, it was not that easy when meeting other people. Day 4, I came home from doing some lessons and she was out in the house with my wife. She was so worked up when I entered the house that she didn’t recognize me and peed in the floor. After that I knew I had some work to do. During her stay, I used play as the focal point of her training, like I do with every dog. She learned obedience through play, and she learned how to interact with new people through her favorite games. After some time, Macy was able to meet new people happily, without playing her favorite games. Now, her owners can take her everywhere without her being weirded out or hiding behind them. I’m so happy for her!! 🐕
