Every single one of you view me a different way.
A different way than I even view myself…
I find myself thinking of this often…

We all intersect each other at different points in our lives, different moments along our journeys. Good, bad, and a million moments in between. ⠀⠀⠀
I’m a terrible person in some people's narratives and a Godsend in others.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And none of it has anything to do with the person I truly am. The person YOU truly are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The lens that each of us are viewed through is coloured by one another’s upbringing, beliefs, and individual experiences.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some people see your bright personality as endearing and others see it only as annoying.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some people think you’re weak or emotional while others feel safe to be themselves around you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some people think you’re rude and selfish
while others respect the way you stand up for yourself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some people admire the way you take pride in the way you look and the manner you live your life,
and yet others think you’re conceited or that you think you're better than everyone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And none of it has to do with who you truly are as a person.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What we should grow to understand is that we have no authority over how people view us and it’s a terrible waste of energy to try to do so. Don’t spin your wheels trying to control the way others see you because at the end of the day the only thing that truly matters is the authenticity you see in yourself.
Be genuine.
Live honestly and to the best of your ability.
Work hard, stay humble.
Do no harm yet take no s**t.
