Did you know???
Paint prices have jumped in 2026!! Sherwin-Williams alone hiked their prices for standard buyers by about 23% starting January 1!!! Their top-grade paint is now $146 per gallon!

However, being a contractor, I still get the standard contractor discount, up to 50% off the retail price.

And don’t forget that I offer painting lessons starting at $80 for one hour, plus the cost of paint. So, let’s do some math.

Let’s say you want to paint a couple rooms in your house yourself, thinking you’ll save some money that way. And maybe you choose some good paint that is now about $120 per gallon, and you need to buy five gallons. That’s $600 just for paint!

There’s a better way.

Instead of doing it all yourself, you can hire me for an hour of training. That’s $80. I’ll buy the paint for you with my 50% discount, then charge the $50 service fee for that. Here’s how it breaks down:
Paint: $300
Training (1 hour): $80
Service fee: $50
Total: $430

By hiring me, you could save $170!! And the more paint you buy, the greater your savings, because my training lesson and service fee don’t change regardless of how much paint you need!

It’s a no-brainer, guys. Do you want to spend $600 just for paint, not sure if you’re getting the right kind, then have to go pick it up yourself and haul it back to your house, and do all of the work on your own? Or would you rather spend $430, be sure you’re getting the best, have it delivered to your home, and get started on the right foot?

If you don’t love your home, change it! Paint is the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way to make the biggest difference in a space. And you don’t have to paint the walls! Consider making smaller changes, like just painting the ceiling an accent color, or painting the doors and trim with a different sheen of the same color. Little adjustments can pay off big-time!

This nursery room got a nice update with a scalloped, chair rail paint job this week. It took one day but the homeowners are going to enjoy it for years to come!

I painted a small condo in Charlotte — ceiling, walls, trim, and doors. What made this project cool was that everything was the same color — “Snowbound” by Sherwin-Williams. The only difference was that the walls and ceiling got the eggshell finish while the trim and doors got semi-gloss. This choice opened the space up, making the best use of the little sunlight it received, and made it feel light and airy inside.

This is the danger of wallpaper. I was tasked with removing the wallpaper and then painting this wall. I perforated the paper, then steamed it, but only the top layer could be removed. Most of the backing stayed stuck to the wall. I steamed the backing and scraped… and steamed… and scraped. By the second day, very little progress had been made. I went to Home Depot and bought wallpaper remover spray and some powerful adhesive solvent. Neither of them had much effect on the wallpaper glue. Eventually, the homeowner decided to stop the project and that he’d probably tear out the wall and replace it with new drywall. All this because of wallpaper.
Before you decide to use wallpaper in your home, make sure you know that it can be removed with normal treatment and that you are aware of the risks. If you want a cool design or pattern, it might actually be easier and cheaper in the long run to paint it directly on the wall rather than hanging wallpaper. Let me give you a quote and we can discuss your options!
