We are seeing an increased I.C.E activity in the low country, so our volunteers will once again be participating in a Barrio Walk to inform the community of their rights and how they can keep themselves safe during these times. We will be handing out whistle kits, and talking to affected community members. If you are bilingual and/or are a concerned community member and have time please join us! We will be meeting in the strip mall in front of the KRC Chester Apartment homes at 12:00 noon on Saturday May 16th.

It’s with a heavy heart we share the sudden loss of Lucca Acosta Navas.

Lucca was wrongfully incarcerated for exercising his right to protest in defense of immigrant rights back in January 2025 alongside a group of activists who became collectively known as the Charleston 7.

This act of bravery and resistance directly led to the founding of the Charleston Community Service Organization.
