Nobody really tells you that building a business you love also means learning how to protect your life outside of it.
I'm in that season right now. Time blocking, setting my own internal deadlines, actually stepping away in the evenings to be present with the people I love.
Work in progress? Completely. Worth it? Yeah. I really love what I do.
Just wanted to say that out loud for anyone else who's in the messy middle of figuring it out.

Most web designers ask you what colors you like. I ask you what problem you solve.
It's a weird question for a web designer to lead with, I know. But if you can't answer it clearly, your website can't either. And a site that can't answer it is just a pretty brochure that looks good and does nothing.
This is how I help my clients actually find the answer before we ever touch a design.
Save this if you've been staring at your website wondering why it isn't working.
And if you're ready to actually fix it, shoot me a message- I'm happy to help!💜
I started a web design business because I love code and strategy...didn't realize I was also signing up to become a content creator who edits videos of her own face all the time. 🙃
Anyway... I build really good websites.
If you need one, let me know!💜

Patiently waiting for the WV business owners who love what they do but cringe every time someone asks for their website...
You've built something real here. Your website just isn't showing it yet.
When you're ready, I'm here. 👋
Hi, I'm Julianna. I make websites for small businesses.
Need a website? Hit me up!
Running this business alone has taught me things no course ever could.
I don't have a team to hand things off to. I'm the one in your inbox, building your site, and making sure the strategy behind it actually fits your business.
It felt like a limitation for a long time. Now I think it's exactly why my clients get what they actually need.
If running your website feels like one more thing on a list that never gets shorter, reach out. That's exactly what I'm here for. And if you're not ready yet, follow along. I share stuff here that actually helps.
I recently tried Ursus Brew Works for the first time and I think they might have my favorite burgers in Charleston now.
If you haven't been yet- go. And order extra smash sauce. Trust me.😉

Things I wish someone had told me before I launched my first client website.
Nobody gives you a manual for this. You just start, figure it out as you go, and hope the hard lessons come before the expensive ones.
These are the things I know now that would have changed everything then. Some of them I learned from doing it right. Most of them I learned from doing it wrong first and that's okay too.
If you're a business owner who's ever looked at your website and thought "I don't know why this isn't working", this one's for you.

Boring stuff I do before I ever touch the design of a client's website.
No mockups. No color palettes. Not yet.
Before any of that I'm on a call learning who you are: what drives you, why you started this, what makes your business yours and not anyone else's. Then I'm figuring out what your site needs to say, who it needs to say it to, and doing my homework on the people you're trying to reach.
By the time we get to the pretty part, every single decision already has a reason behind it. Nothing is just because it looks nice.
This is what strategy-first actually looks like behind the scenes.
Save this if you've ever wondered why your website looks good but doesn't actually bring in business. 👇
Follow for more of the unglamorous stuff that makes websites actually work.
The real reason my clients love their websites has nothing to do with how it looks.
Before I ever open a design tool, I figure out what the website actually needs to do.
Most sites get built around aesthetics. Mine get built around what needs to happen: more calls, more bookings, the right people actually reaching out.
That's the part most web designers overlook and it's the part that changes everything.
Is your website doing its job? If you're not sure, send me your link. I'll take a look.
