Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare. No heartbeat, No healthcare system! Straight like that. This article should be alarming for everyone reading it. You want to resolve the Nursing shortage, then listen to the actual nurses!

A dangerous nursing shortage must be addressed in face of 'Silver Tsunami' Opinion: As many as 418 hospitals are at risk of closing due in part to staffing shortages.

Three years ago today:

🔥 I created an Anthology project to include other black Nurses throughout the country. They traveled to Wilmington for an amazing book talk and book launch- which was sold out a few days prior to the event.

🔥 The date of the event was booked before became an official holiday.

🔥 We honored a living Nurse legend in the Port City. She has since passed away.

🔥 My mom was front and center and made sure to gather my family to ensure they were there and she even sold books for me long distance. She has since passed away. She was definitely an apostle.❤️

🔥 My father-in-law was front and center and always supportive of me. He has since passed away. ❤️

🔥 Sooooo much life happened since this day and I’ve been steadily writing, snapping pics, and recording behind the scenes ever since. This documentary will be an AMAZING piece of work that will open doors for many.

🔥 This is when the lessons started and the tests became real.

Sometimes, you just gotta “run that back”, so I’m reposting this pic because someone needs this motivation today.🔥

Have you ever taken a picture, looked back at it years later, and knew EXACTLY what was happening in that very moment? This is that picture for me. This picture was taken 3 years ago! Time flies!

Within an hour of me taking this picture, I had just had an amazing book talk and a book signing at the community college which was standing room only. We had to turn away walk-ups because we had met the capacity quota for our venue.

I wrote an anthology called, “The Diaries of a Resilient Black Nurse”. I helped other black Nurses throughout the country become published authors and gave them a platform to become a national speaker- while simultaneously helping them to create an additional income stream as an author. In that event, I also paid homage to a resilient black Nurse (a living legend at that time) who is now deceased. All of this also happened on !

Whew! Yeah, I didn’t realize how Boss that was until way afterwards. I was just being obedient to the vision God gave me. So, yeah, it’s a lot!

Meantime, with all of these things happening, I also dealt with sabatoge during this amazing event. It was a terrible distraction that came in the form of “familiar folks”. It was a direct attack of the enemy and it never feels good when you’re going through it. What I’ve learned is that the attack often comes from folks closest to you because your guard is normally down and you least expect it. You HAVE TO SHUT THAT MESS DOWN IN THE NAME OF JESUS! I said this with my chest, “No weapon formed against me or ANYTHING I BIRTH OR TOUCH shall prosper!” Oh, and I meant that! I commanded the unclean spirits ti be gone in the name of Jesus! It’s amazing to watch God work when we use the weapons he already gave us to defend ourselves with.

Feel free to zoom in close with this picture. Look at my eyes! Look at my posture! This picture captured that moment of reflection where I realized I had just won the battle. I was tired, yet so fierce. I had that look like “devil you tried it”. I was nearly exhausted, yet I felt the birth of a warrior all throughout me. I actually felt that I just needed a few hours to recuperate and I could run it back all over again- even with the attempts to sabatoge my efforts.

Lesson:
1. Everyone coming around you, or to your event, is not a supporter. Some are spectators and some are saboteurs. You need discernment to tell the difference.

2. When you operate in purpose, it’s NEVER just about you. Therefore, you are responsible for protecting those on that journey with you. It makes you pray & move differently because if the enemy can’t get to you, he will get to who all are closest to you- and also who lack the strength that you have. So, you have to learn to separate the behavior from the actual person. They are also under attack and don’t even know it. We wrestle NOT against flesh, but powers and principalities. This means, we be outchea fightin each other when we need to be outchea fightin dem dangone evil and unclean spirits. 👊🏽🔥

3. Know who you are and your purpose and run with it!!!! You can not fail! Even if sabatoge occurs, you must understand that purpose WILL ALWAYS WIN! Sabatoge is simply a distraction to derail you from your purpose. When you know who you are, and your purpose, then you will understand the attacks and fear no evil- especially knowing you’re the light. You see, I stopped fearing the darkness because I realized that I am the light! It’s because of the God inside of me. That’s where my power comes from. This picture captured it perfectly. It screams power and all I did was stop and pose for a picture next to my office and my child took the pic with my cellphone. No filters or ai. It’s an internal strength that can NOT be removed by any man on this Earth! When you realize your strength then you become unstoppable.

I hope this blessed ypu!
