Was at the beach sketching people yesterday. Lots of people there enjoying their day off with family and friends.

I’m working on getting better at drawing people, and getting them anatomically accurate when in motion.

I’m working getting as fast as I can at field study sketching. This applies to drawing people AND animals.

I’m sharing this specific post of hers because I think it’s amazing how she so easily shares her journey as an artist, a very talented artist at that;
I think this post is special in how she shares her creative process for this work she is about to create.

I hope to be like Kaitlyn when I grow up. Maybe I could be lucky enough someday to possess one of her beautiful gouache paintings.

I ran a poll a few months back to see which animal you guys wanted to see me paint next in gouache; The Octopus won out by far! I was very surprised. 🐙

So, I had an idea that the Octopus was the center of our universe (the sun), and he's holding all the other planets in his 8 arms. 🌌 Here's the sketch ~ basis for a new painting.

COTD —->This Cat critter’s name is Nut. A friend gave him to me a year ago.

I was going through a hard phase of my life during that time.
I downsized my life; sold my house, and most of my belongings…

Nut was a new objet d'art for my new place.

*** But ***
You don’t really need stuff like objets d'art, in order to start over.
You don’t really need stuff to make a journey either.

Having Nut, and sharing this story with you…. Helps me keep things in perspective. This little objet d'art makes me smile and gives me hope.
