Champaign County Freedom Celebration - Champaign, Illinois The Champaign County Freedom Celebration Committee is excited to announce that the fireworks display will take place on July 4th, 2021.

Downtown business owners and property owners, this one’s for you!

The Downtown Refresh Grant application opens May 6 and closes June 19. Information Sessions will be held at the Champaign Public Library on May 4th at 1 p.m. and May 7th at 11 a.m. Both sessions will be recorded via Zoom. This program offers matching funds for eligible renovation costs that improve ground-floor storefront spaces in Downtown Champaign. Existing businesses may qualify for a 50% City match up to $50,000 per storefront, while projects filling a storefront vacant for more than one year may qualify for a 75% City match up to $50,000! Eligible improvements include exterior storefront upgrades and any customer-facing interior enhancements!!

Spring Yard Waste Collection is coming!

Champaign residents will have two pickup weeks this spring. Place yard waste at the curb by 6 a.m. on Monday of your zone’s week.

Orange Zone:
April 13
May 11

Blue Zone:
April 20
May 18

Crews will collect materials throughout the week. Find your zone using the Yard Waste Collection Map and learn more about material requirements by visiting the Champaign Public Works yard waste collection webpage at champaignil.gov/yardwaste.
