The best view in the house! ☀️👋
This is what Meghin sees every morning as she gets ready to welcome our little friends into the office.
We love this bright, open view of the entrance because it reminds us of all the smiling faces we get to see walk through those doors each day.
Whether it’s your first evaluation or your weekly session, we strive to make sure the moment you walk in, you feel right at home.

This week's WIN goes to Gideon! 🏆
Gideon and his family have been part of my speech therapy journey for quite some time. We first started working together when he was still receiving Early Intervention services, and I was providing therapy through home visits.
Through every stage of the journey, his family has remained committed to helping him grow, and I have been so fortunate to continue working with him at my clinic.
While Gideon has made tremendous progress since we first met, the growth over the last few months has been especially exciting to watch.
He has been adding new speech sounds like crazy, using more words than ever before, and putting together longer, more complex sentences. 🎉
The little guy who once worked so hard to get his message across is now constantly talking and sharing his thoughts with the people around him.
I want to give a huge shout out to Gideon and his family for their consistency, dedication, and hard work. Progress like this is built through countless small moments, lots of practice, and a whole lot of perseverance.
I am so proud of how far Gideon has come and can't wait to see what he accomplishes next! ⭐

Fridays in the Reading Room call for some light research! 🐰📚
Heidi takes her role as the MTW Speech official literary critic very seriously. Right now, she’s highly recommending Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Little Blue Truck!
Meghin loves using these specific books because they are packed with repetition, which is exactly what our little friends need when building their communication skills. They are also amazing tools for getting kids to imitate fun actions and hand motions (like flying with a "swoosh") and building gross motor skills right alongside speech.
Our Reading Room is one of our favorite spaces because it's a smaller, cozy environment. It helps our youngest little friends stay focused and feel completely safe and unintimidated when they first walk in for an evaluation.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend—don't forget to squeeze in a little cozy reading time with your kiddos!

Looks like Rufus is taking over the administrative duties today! 🐰💻
He’s been very busy answering emails and checking the schedule, though his typing style involves a lot of hopping on the spacebar.
We might have to double-check his work, but you can't deny his dedication to the team!
Take a little walk with us! 👣✨
Ever wonder where the magic happens? This tour ends in our Play Room, which is where we host most of our follow-up visits.
At MTW Speech, we believe that "work" should look a lot like play.
While our little friends are busy exploring toys or swinging on the sensory swing, they’re actually working hard on their speech and language goals.
It’s a space designed to be fun, functional, and full of breakthroughs!

This week's win goes to Giovanni! 🏆
When Gio first started therapy, he was using about 30–40 words, but often needed someone else to say a word before he would repeat it. He frequently used a whisper voice when talking and often seemed unsure of himself when trying to communicate.
The challenge was never understanding what others were saying...it was that producing speech was hard work. Many words and sounds took a lot of effort, and when something felt too difficult, he would often choose not to try at all.
Fast forward to today, and the difference is incredible.
Gio is using all kinds of new words and regularly produces phrases and short sentences completely on his own. His current favorite question is "Why?"...a stage his parents thought they might get to skip 😂
He still sometimes uses his quiet voice when attempting a brand-new word, but here's the amazing part: he tries. Instead of shutting down when something feels difficult, he's willing to give it a shot.
And once he gets going, that quiet voice doesn't stick around for long. ✨
The growth in Gio's confidence has been just as exciting as the growth in his speech. Watching him become more willing to communicate, take risks, and share his thoughts has been such a joy.
I am so proud of this young man and incredibly grateful for the consistency, support, and hard work his parents have put into therapy each week.
What an amazing journey it has been so far!
"Wheeeeeee!" ... "Oof!" 🦒✨
Ever wonder why we use toys like this simple giraffe slide in therapy? It's not just for play—it's a powerful tool for building communication!
We use these playful routines to narrate what’s happening with silly sounds and words like "Go!" or "Up!"
Because the giraffe does the same thing every time, it becomes a predictable game where our little friends feel confident enough to start filling in the sounds themselves.
By repeating these routines, the pressure is taken off our little friends to come up with words on their own.
It’s amazing how much progress can happen between a few "Wheees," an "Oof," and a big smile!

When Roger started therapy with me in November, he had a limited number of words he used consistently and often relied on his caregivers to anticipate his needs.
Many people outside of his family had difficulty understanding his speech, so Mom and Dad frequently had to “interpret” for him so he could connect and communicate with others.
Fast forward six months… and the growth has been incredible! 📈
Recently, Roger saw extended family he hadn’t seen in quite some time, and they were able to understand him! His cousins were excited to play with him, talk with him, and truly engage with him.
Those moments matter SO much.
During our sessions, he is now independently finishing familiar play phrases and routines. This week, he proudly said, “One, two, three… pop, woah!” completely on his own.
Mom also shared something even bigger: Roger isn’t just talking more. He is engaging more!
He wants others to interact with him, copy his movements during games like Follow the Leader, and join in his play. He’s becoming more confident trying new things, visiting new places, and even exploring new foods.
I am so proud of all the hard work Roger and his family have put in over these last six months. Watching confidence and connection grow alongside communication is one of the best parts of this job. 💖
