Well, it's official! The stringed instrument repair/maintenance and custom luthierie business officially has a name! A truly simple and unique brand that will act as the public name on anything that ever leaves my workbench... From here on out, the generic placeholder of "Jake's Guitar Repair and Luthierie" is no more (and frankly that's all it ever really was, a placeholder until I settled on something I liked!). From now on, the brand will be referred to and known as...

Custom Luthierie and Stringed Instrument Repair

This was one of three main contenders that I spent months trying out on various business card and sticker templates and trying out on friends, family, and strangers on the Interwebz. I also had to research various copyright and public domain laws, codes, and statutes figuring out just what exactly you can and cannot trademark and/or copyright and what exactly the legal requirements look like. The option I wound up choosing was the easiest to use based on the legal implications, and just so happens to really "roll of the tongue" the best. It's also the most ambiguous of the three, and it doesn't come off as "try-hard", gratuitous, or pretentious. Ultimately I'm quite happy with my re-branding. Stay tuned, as the visual aspect of this change is soon to reveal itself! I considered waiting to reveal all of this stuff at once, but I was just so excited about the new namesake that I simply could not wait.

So... I'm curious to know what you, the "organic outreach" demographic thinks about the name. I'm also curious to see just how many out there actually 'get it'...

So I've had this brand new fancy toolbox since a little before Christmas. Actually since like Thanksgiving. Yes I can procrastinate sometimes when it comes to my own personal needs and desires. It's sad. Anyhoo, I've FINALLY finished moving all of my tools and spare parts into this beast, save for a few little knickknacks and such that aren't at all crucial. I thought I would find myself with more than enough space leftover, but I underestimated the depth of my proclivity to buy multiples of certain items and ultimately collect various flotsam and jetsam. I now find myself shcokingly lower on space than expected, and have to tactfully consolidate in certain areas. Although I guess it's to be expected, since this is no longer a dedicated luthier bench (at least for now) but simply my tinkering and workspace. Once I begin aquiring more specialized luthierie and teching tools, then this will become a dedicated luthier work station and my old Kennedy from my CNC machining days will serve as storage for other non-specialized tools and anything used for my metalworking and blacksmithing hobbies. At any rate, it's all coming together and I'm pretty thrilled! Now to get some instrument work laid across this thing!
One of my doggies decided to star in one of the pics lol.
