FOCUS Center for Autism

Yesterday, our Fresh Start School students took a trip to the home of our founders, Donna and Fred, as a way to wrap up the school year. This is always a favorite outing for many of our students, especially the dog lovers, since they have three big dogs who are always happy to welcome visitors.

Students and staff also had the chance to spend time with Maybelline the donkey. Although she is usually a bit shy, she seemed very comfortable around our students and enjoyed the extra attention. There were lots of smiles throughout the day, and it was a great way to spend our final full day together before the Awards Day Ceremony.

During the second to last week of school, Fresh Start held a Spirit Week and it was a lot of fun for both our students and staff. We had different themed days throughout the week, including Favorite Music T-Shirt Day and Dress as Your Favorite Character Day. It was great to see everyone get involved, show off their interests, and have some fun with the themes.

Our students are always excited for opportunities like this, and it was nice to see so much participation throughout the week. It was a fun way to add some extra excitement as we got closer to the end of the school year.
