Mini service dog Echo spam because I miss working him 🩵
Keep going. Their freedom is worth the blood, sweat and tears. There seems to be this ideology from some that trained dogs are “robots” that don’t get to just be dogs, I argue that a trained dog gets even more opportunities to be a dog. 🩷

I wish more people knew how important decompression walks in nature are. I do sometimes throw some training in there but most of these walks are just letting my dogs be dogs, they get to wander and sniff to their hearts content. Any dog could benefit from them, but reactive dogs especially benefit from them. Trails are generally quiet, not crowded unless it’s a weekend and are full of soo many different smells! So good for their mental health, which helps their training in the long run. 🫶 Swift’s reactivity improved tremendously once we started implementing at least one trail walk a week.

Dip’s last day with us. He got to go on a hike this morning, then we grabbed pup cups from the nearby Coffee Bean. Then once we got home he got a good grooming. It’s difficult to say goodbye, but I know he will make his new home super happy, he is so sweet and overall a fun guy. You’ll do great things, dude, it was a joy training with you and helping build your confidence.💚
Thank you again to Blue Light Canine Foundation for trusting me with this boy. He has been a treat. 🫶
Frozen enrichment in their safe spaces while the firework show went on! 💥
I do sometimes go out into town to train around the fireworks but this year I have Dip and wasn’t quite sure how he would be, so we stayed in this year and kept things cozy. He is a little nervous but not too bad, what a champ. 🫶

This weekend, remember this:
Your dog’s nervous system isn’t choosing fear. It’s responding to what their body believes is danger.
You don’t have to “fix” your dog tonight. You can become the safest thing in their environment.
If you want simple, nervous system-based exercises you can use before, during, and after fireworks, we’ve put them together in our Canine Noise Sensitivity Toolkit.
Comment “LOUD” and I’ll send it to you 🐾

Last pack trail walk together. 💜🩵💚
Dip goes home this Sunday. We will miss him but he is going to a phenomenal home and I can’t wait to watch his journey with his forever people. 🐾
Slowly starting some obedience training back up after Echo’s IMPA recovery. His return to high impact sports like agility is still questionable but I would love to grab his rally excellent title later this year or early next and maybe work towards a RAE. 🩵
