Front Porch Flowers
After chasing butterflies without success, I settled in to trimming flowers and watering, and the butterflies settled in to what is apparently their favorite flower Ageratum “Monarch Magic.”
We just got these beautiful periwinkle blue flower plants in, and the butterflies truly love them. They seem to be choosing this particular plant over our butterfly bushes and anything else we have in the garden center!!!
We only have one plant left and are hoping to get more in with our new plant arrivals this coming Tuesday!!
And honestly, I think they were enjoying watching me run around earlier, trying to capture them on my phone - as were the customers looking at plants!!!!!
I have been loving this native plant in my garden for decades!!!! Whether I have grown it in Northern or Southern California, it has always been an easy-to-care for plant with gorgeous flowers all summer!!!
While I recall only having the purple echinacea in my yard in the past , we have some amazing colors now such as PowWow Wildberry, Cheyanne Spirit and Tres Hombres.
It can take planting right now - even with heat and sun!!! Just dig a hole right in some well draining soil, add a bit of manure, water until established and get ready to enjoy this beauty in your yard!!! The pollinators will thank you.
So come on in to Oceanside ACE Garden Center - I have way too much fun helping!!!!
Dianthus, or Sweet William, is not only an excellent filler in pots or planted directly in the garden bed…the bunnies don’t seem to like it!! That is a win-win!!
