Chiquitita getting in on the action with new toys this week. The small mice seem to be a big hit! I love how the cats old them between their paws. Great for cat enrichment and natural hunting instinct!

Chiquitita is 2 years old and has been in foster care nearly 2 years. She is a sweet girl and will need a cat whisperer and patient adopter. She is far more outgoing than her brother Fernando. She allows pets if you approach her slow and she gets near you for feedings.

Minnie is at Town N Country Animal Hospital now for her surgery planned for today. Since yesterday we have raised $1273.15. I’m not counting what we raised previously because that all went to her prior vet bills and didn’t even cover all of them. I’m focusing now on raising funds for today. The high end cost for today is $2455.00 and low end is $2123.00

What we thought was FIP has now been diagnosed as a tumor in her bowel that will be removed with a biopsy. She will have a feeding tube placed to ensure she eats in case she doesn’t want to for the first few days after surgery. Dr. King performed an ultrasound yesterday and said Minnie is a good candidate for this surgery. We have worked with this vet since well before the rescue formed and she would never recommend surgery knowing our rescue’s small budget if she didn’t feel 100% certain it’s a good thing.

Our finances are stretched to their limit and without your help we could quickly be broke! We cannot let that happen when we have so many cats to care for. Unexpected major vet expenses for multiple lately have really hit us hard, and on top of that we’ve had to buy the majority of food and litter for the rescue for several months. This week though we are so grateful people are sending more supplies.
