Forty-five people have already reserved their spots.

And every registration reminds me why we’re hosting this evening.

If you’ve been quietly wondering…

• Could homeschooling work for our family?
• Am I doing enough?
• Where do I even begin?
• How do I find community?
• What does homeschooling actually look like?

This is the space for you.

This is the night to ask questions.

To hear honest stories from families who have walked different paths.

To meet local homeschool parents, educators, and community leaders who simply want to help.

No pressure.

No perfect answers.

Just real conversations with people who remember what it was like to be where you are.

We’re intentionally keeping this event intimate so everyone has the opportunity to connect. Seating is limited, and we’re already halfway to capacity with 45 guests registered.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, we’d love to save you a seat.

Sometimes all it takes is one conversation to change the direction of your family’s journey.

Yesterday wasn’t an Uncharted day.

It wasn’t a day spent building the community I wish had existed when we first started homeschooling.

It was a family day filled with responsibilities that couldn’t wait.

We came home from another wonderful year at our annual Family Camp and stepped right back into real life.

Unpack.

Laundry.

Paperwork.

Putting out fires.

Repacking.

Trying to fit every bit of summer into the precious time we get with our children before they head off to spend time with their other parents.

And as I watched the day unfold, I was reminded that our children are learning through all of it.

They’re learning responsibility as they unpack their own bags.

Organization as they decide what comes home and what gets packed for the next adventure.

Time management as we work together to prepare for the week ahead.

Resilience as plans change and life asks us to adapt.

Family traditions, teamwork, and the importance of showing up for the people we love.

Those lessons rarely come from a worksheet, but they stay with our children for a lifetime.

It reminded me, once again, why I created Uncharted.

Because homeschooling doesn’t stop when life gets busy.

Life is homeschooling.

Some days we build the dream.

Some days we simply live it.

And both are enough.

Meet Carolina 🇪🇸

Originally from Spain, Carolina never imagined homeschooling would become part of her family’s story. Like many parents, she once believed homeschooling was something “only weird people did.” But after homeschooling both of her sons all the way through graduation, her perspective completely changed.

Carolina brings the unique perspective of someone who began this journey with doubts and discovered firsthand the incredible benefits homeschooling can offer. She’ll be sharing why she believes young children thrive when they’re given more time at home, how homeschooling can support emotional well-being, and why learning doesn’t have to happen in a classroom filled with children all the same age.

With years of experience, thoughtful insight, and a refreshing international perspective, Carolina offers encouragement to families who may be wondering if homeschooling could be the right path for them.

🇪🇸 Homeschool graduate parent
❤️ Passionate about children’s emotional well-being
🌱 Advocate for learning through real life and community

Today’s the day many New York homeschool families are submitting their Letters of Intent.

If that’s you…

Welcome back.

Here’s to another year of curiosity, adventure, challenges, growth, and unforgettable memories with your children.

And if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by the planning, paperwork, and everything that comes with homeschooling…

You’re not alone.

I’ve been there too.

That’s one of the reasons I created Uncharted.

Three years ago, I wanted one place where our family’s plans, learning, photos, portfolios, memories, and reports could all come together.

Not to change the way we homeschool.

Just to make it easier to hold onto the journey.

If you’re beginning another homeschool year today, I hope Uncharted brings you a little more peace and a little less paperwork.

Here’s to another year of learning together. 🤍

They’re home.

The house feels a little louder.

The laundry pile is already growing.

Breakfast lasted longer than usual.

And just like that…

our summer rhythm begins.

This week we’ll be getting ready for family camp.

Making fresh squeezed lemonade.

Scooping ice cream.

Mowing the lawn.

Pulling weeds.

Reading together.

Creek stomping.

Yearbook signing pool party with the Co-op crew.

Riding bikes.

Working through a little math.

Prepping french drains and extending the chicken coop.

Planning summer and next year’s adventures.

It doesn’t look like a traditional school day.

And that’s the beauty of homeschooling.

Around here, learning isn’t something we start at 8:00 and finish at 3:00.

It’s woven into the life we’re already living.

Welcome home, summer. 🤍

It’s that time of year again.

The time when many homeschool parents begin pulling out notebooks, scrolling through thousands of photos, and trying to remember everything their children learned over the last few months.

The funny thing is…

The learning was never the hard part.

Remembering it all was.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I created Uncharted.

Not to change how we homeschool.

To help us remember it.

The books we read.

The conversations we had.

The field trips.

The projects.

The nature walks.

The everyday moments that quietly became education.

Because our children deserve more than us saying,

“I know we did a lot.”

They deserve a record of the incredible journey they’re on.

(Scroll through to see how one learning experience becomes a portfolio, documentation, and a quarterly report.)

Some of the biggest decisions we'll ever make as parents begin with a simple question.

"Is this still the right fit for my child?"

Don't be afraid to ask it.

Your child is worth the conversation.

Meet Colleen

One thing that stood out from this week’s conversations was how many homeschool families are looking for support, connection, and people who understand the unique challenges of this journey.

The truth is that those questions don’t disappear as our children grow.

In many ways, they simply change.

What does homeschooling look like for teens?

How do they build friendships and community?

What happens when traditional school is no longer the right fit?

How do we help them prepare for life after high school?

We’re excited to welcome Colleen to the Homeschool Mingle.

Colleen began homeschooling her teenager unexpectedly and has navigated that transition while working full-time and pursuing graduate studies in Rehabilitation Counseling. Her background in disability services, supported employment, and career development gives her a unique perspective on helping teens find their footing and prepare for the world beyond high school.

She understands that many families arrive at homeschooling later than expected and that every teen’s path may look a little different.

Whether you’re already homeschooling a teenager, considering homeschooling for the first time, or simply wondering what the future may hold, Colleen brings a perspective that many families need to hear.

We’re looking forward to having her join the conversation.

Yesterday's responses reminded me of something.

Most homeschool families aren't looking for more curriculum.

They're looking for more community.

More places to gather.

More opportunities to connect.

More ways for their children to find their people.

And honestly, so are we.

If you could wave a magic wand and create one thing for homeschool families in your area, what would it be?

A co-op?

More field trips?

Teen programs?

Parent support?

Nature classes?

I'd love to hear your answers.
