We're back!! Not just the Sabres in the playoffs, but Big Ditch Run Club! π We're kicking things off next month, and will share miles and beers on the second Monday every month. Our first run club night will be Monday, May 11th, 6pm in the downtown taproom. As always, we'll have 3- & 4-mile route options for runners and walkers, and post-run deals and food and beers. All are welcome!! See you next month. βπ»ππ»ββοΈπ»

Ten. Years. ππ€―
Thatβs a lot of years, which made me thinkβ¦ How many runners? How many races, places, group runs? I love a spreadsheet and keep really good records, so I went back and did the math. Swipe through for the breakdown, itβs pretty impressive!
Itβs cool to think about how many training plans Iβve written, how many races this community has raced, all the different data points. We runners love data! This is a sport rooted in measured distances and the numbers on the clock. And yet, itβs so so much more. Alongside the stats, there is so much unrecorded: the laughs shared between runners, the post-run beers, the fights against that brutal wind blowing in your face along the marina, the quiet accomplishment of finishing a hard workout. All the reasons we run and what we shared together over the years, even just for a season or two. Over ten years, a community of people has evolved and continues to grow and expand and change in so many beautiful ways. Iβm so incredibly grateful for every one of you that has been a part of it all, regardless of the numbers youβve put up. Thank you for being a part of NLR. ππ

Welcome to 2025! ππ½ββοΈπ It's a new year, it's January and there's a lot of winter ahead. That means it's time to get back on track with Next Level's regular group training. We start up next week!
From now through May, we'll be doing Wednesday night group runs with speedwork, followed by strength training at IMPACT. We'll also have Saturday morning group runs, mostly from HarborCenter but once a month from Chestnut Ridge.
There's more info at nextlevelrun.com (link in bio). Registration for group training packages (plus online coaching!) is always open. You can also register for individual group dates or one month of groups at a time. Check it out and message me with any questions.
NLR group training is open to anyone and everyone. You can come and walk, run/walk, run casually, or run your ass off. I'll provide various overlapping routes and workouts to meet each individual's needs. In the gym, IMPACT's trainers are prepared to work with all fitness levels and can modify any exercise as needed. We'd love you to join us!
If you've got spring goals, now's the time to get started. Let's go!!

Exciting news: Winter XT @ IMPACT! In between regular NLR group training seasons, we're offering a great opportunity for runners to develop some good foundational strength. It's a 6-week program focused on cross-training for runners, designed and led by IMPACT's trainers. Workouts will be Wednesday nights from 6-7pm, starting Nov. 6th. If you're a runner coming up on your off-season, want to learn more about strength training, stay fit through the holidays, and/or set yourself up for a good, healthy spring season, this is definitely something to try.
Anyone and everyone is welcome, all fitness levels, and you don't have to be part of NLR yet!
The focus of this program is to teach athletes the importance of cross-training for long term athletic development. You'll improve your technique, neuromuscular control, foundational strength and stability for speed development, and prevent injury specific to running. You'll get lots of individual attention within this group format, and the trainers will track each athlete's progress from start to finish of the full program.
Dates are Wednesdays 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, {break}, 12/4, 12/11, & 12/18. Cost for the full 6 sessions is $150. Make-up workouts can be scheduled if you have a conflict. Drop-ins for individual workouts are also available for $30/session, so bring a friend anytime!
There's a link in my bio to sign up, and please message me with any questions. See you in the gym!πͺπ»
