Make A Stand Bully Rescue

WE’RE SO TIRED OF THESE DOGS!!!! 😡😤
Did it work? Did you stop, pause, and look? Phew. Ok. Step #1, done!
Step #2 is telling y’all that we love these dogs dearly and we’re not “tired of these dogs,” BUT! They don’t need to be growing up and living in rescue care. They are healthy, happy, and ready to go. In fact, they’ve been ready… for MONTHS.
Step #3 is reminding you that our dogs are available for NATIONWIDE transport (and even into Canada for the right homes). Don’t let distance deter you from adopting. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, right? 🙏🏻🥹
Final Step (because, inevitably, someone will ask): these are pit bull mixes (some more “mixy” than others) who are available for adoption and currently reside in foster homes in BRYAN, SAN ANTONIO, and HOUSTON, TEXAS. They are spayed/neutered (if of age), vaccinated, f***l negative (or on treatment), current on flea/hw prevention, and READY.TO.GO.
Please share? We’re running out of ideas for exposure, clearly. 🙃
Oof, y’all. This guy is not in good health. In fact, the statement has already been made that he is - honestly - in worse condition than Cordelia when she arrived… and y’all remember those conversations, we’re sure.
Yesterday evening, his foster mama reached out expressing concern about his breathing and distended abdomen. (In addition to all his other obvious problems). So, Sq**rt spent the day with our friends and partners at and went home with one of their team members for the night to keep an eye on him while we await results from the clinical team.
We ran full body radiographs and sent them off to a radiology specialist for consult. There is no obvious indication of an obstruction - which is great - but his “insides” appear to be “all kinds of messed up” (we’ve heard that before!). Unfortunately, he also has a severe Hypoplastic Trachea, which means his trachea is *literally* smaller than a pencil eraser in width. We have successfully adopted dogs out with this condition, but it requires very, VERY brief outdoor stints, especially in this heat, because they truly can’t breathe well (which would explain his evident “gasping” for breath).
We have not yet received medical records from his prior owner, and while we are hopeful we will receive them, we’re not holding out for them and will continue with diagnostics and treatment as we do with all our rescue’s dogs: with zero history, and from the ground up.
Do we regret saving Sq**rt? Nope.
But his life isn’t going to be easy; and the expense we are welcoming in caring for him… will be high. 🥴
But, again, we believe he’s worth it.
He didn’t ask to be bred or brought into this life; but he’s here, we love him, and we’re going to make sure every day, is a good day. 🫶🏼
Sq**rt is going to need A LOT of support, both by way of financial donations and some specific in-kind supplies, as well. If you are in a position where you can financially support some of his needs, we would be incredibly appreciative!
