For me, it's 2 reasons.

❤ It's one of the easiest ways to make your look unique with the least amount of effort

❤ And, my son loves to play with my pearl necklace that I wear everyday. So I like wearing it to work because it's a little reminder of him all day when I'm not with him.

What about you?

Here's why buying the wrong type of pearl will make your jewelry not last as long. And what kind you should buy instead.

We see "freshwater" and "saltwater" pearls when buying pearl jewelry, and what's the difference? Should you be buying one verses another? Yes!

🦪 Saltwater pearls are formed in oceans and freshwater pearls are formed in mollusks in lakes and rivers.

🦪 Freshwater pearls form more quickly than saltwater pearls. And they’re typically a bit smaller but more durable than saltwater pearls.

So, why does that matter? Freshwater pearls are almost 100% nacre, as opposed to a saltwater pearl which just has a thin coat of nacre. The added nacre makes the freshwater pearl a lot more durable than the saltwater pearl.

Also, saltwater pearls are those perfectly round pearls while freshwater pearls are the ones with the fun, irregular shapes like baroque and keshi! (The cool ones)

Annnnd, saltwater pearls are more expensive.

So, what’s which one should you buy? We love freshwater pearls because they look cooler, are less expensive, and hold up longer!

Like this super unique baroque pearl in our drop earrings. Check out the those cool crevices and valleys, and k***s and gnarls. No one else will have a pair like yours.
