It’s the one year anniversary of filing the LLC for my coaching biz and I’ve decided to do a along with my Selling with Soul team about my 1st full year in business.

Truth #1: Last year after getting let go from my job, I thought I might be delusional to try to start my coaching business again.

Honestly, this wasn’t the first start at becoming a full time coach.

🙋🏽‍♀️ It’s my 3rd attempt.

👉🏽 People say follow your heart and the money will come.
I have found that to be only partially true. You have to support yourself financially until your dream actually works.

👉🏽 Following your heart takes just as much work as anything else -> and the inner work is the most important thing you can do.

👉🏽 It took me years of healing my own past to be able to support others in their healing journey, and I’m so grateful I took the time.

I am doing everything in that plan now but, without laying the foundation (spiritually, mentally, emotionally) I couldn’t hold the space that I can now!!

So if you’re reading this far and you know you want to go after your dream biz, go for it!! And also know that it will kick the s**t out of you, and you’ll be happy, and weary, and tired, and excited, and mopey, and broke sometimes.
But you’ll have created something new in the world, and fulfilled your self expression, and that is worth the effort.

I hate to say it, but what changed the game for me in my coaching business was hiring a good coach.

I know it's EXTREMELY cliche.

+ But, I didn't have the confidence to ask for high-ticket payments from clients until I did it myself.

+ I didn't actually know ANYTHING about how to market my coaching business online, even though I had been a marketing director at 2 different companies.

+ My consistency in showing up on social media was absolute Sh*t before I hired a coach to help me work through my mindset blocks around being seen.

Here's the truth.

+ I was getting in m own way because I thought "I could handle everything myself" - a lifelong motto.

+ I was going broke doing it my way (my first 2 months in business I made a wopping $800/mo).

+ I was honestly sinking in to depression and scanning job listings wondering if I made a mistake.

Then I took a chance on myself and decided to invest the equivalent of my rent payment in a coach.

I was s**t scared.

But I made that money back in 48 hours of signing with her.

Then, I turned around and had my best month in sales ever during a pandemic.

Lesson here: It takes doing the OPPOSITE action when you are afraid and backed in to a corner to have a massive breakthrough financially.

My mind made up every excuse in the book as to why my choice to invest in myself was irrational.
