This one’s still unfolding.

While we were filming the “Yellow Nights” video, I played Bradley Valentin my album Tidings In The Rough front to back. When “IRL” came on, he immediately locked in. Melodies started forming, ideas flowing.

Not long after, he was writing to it live. Someone in the room offered the word “water,” and that became the thread.

Bradley has a way of building songs in the moment, pulling from the room, shaping something in real time. This clip is a glimpse of that process.

This is “Water” over the IRL groove. Still evolving, still finding itself.

We are currently working on an official recording scheduled for release later this year.

The Threes show came together in a really natural way. From reconnecting with Alex Goldberg back in January to putting this lineup together with Joie Flare. My whole intention from the start was to keep it laid-back and community focused.

This clip catches a moment from “No Preface” with Aayushi taking a solo. The level of playing that night was something special. Very expressive, locked in, and fully present across the band. Jaysin’s first time playing these tunes with us and he absolutely brought it.

Everyone did.

I’m truly grateful for this group and the energy in the room that night. Looking forward to more.

Primavera De Tosca 🌿

I had the honor of recording and producing a very special project for Roberto Poveda, The Troubadour of Brooklyn, a cover and tribute to Cuban singer-guitarist Alberto Tosca.

This wasn’t just another session. It was a labor of love.
“Primavera” carries the memory of Lacret Street in Havana, a generation of young songwriters finding their voice in the Santo Suárez neighborhood. Alberto Tosca (“El Negro”), Donato Poveda, Santiago Feliú, Juan Masó… friends writing poems and songs at night, believing in something bigger than themselves.

Roberto’s voice on this recording feels like a bridge across time, honoring youth, exile, friendship, and the fragile optimism that keeps us going.

We were blessed to have Cuban nueva trova legend Xiomara Laugart lend her voice to this piece. Xiomara has recorded over 17 albums and carries an entire era of Cuban song in her sound. The track also features the late, great Juan Carlos Formell on bass and guitar, born into Cuban music royalty, former bassist of Los Van Van, and a singular artist in his own right. His presence on this recording makes it even more meaningful.

This song is about memory.
About exile.
About not letting the distant melody fade.
About searching for a smile against all possible winters.

Grateful to have helped bring this one into the world. 🌸
