Yall know I am a happy girl!

And our visitor last night was …..

Polyphemus Moth, one of the largest silk moths in North America.

Similar to the Luna Moth where its sole purpose is to mate - doesn’t eat - doesn’t have a mouth

With its beautiful eye spots and impressive wingspan, it’s hard to believe something so stunning spends most of its life hidden from view before emerging for such a brief time.

Nature is always reminding us that transformation doesn’t happen overnight. There are seasons of growth, waiting, and becoming before it’s time to spread our wings.

What a gift to witness this beautiful creature during its short visit. 💚

Yesterday’s lake walk was filled with peaceful views, birdsong, and then this little surprise… a tree saying “Hi.”

Maybe that’s your reminder today too:

Meet Mr. Luna Moth 🌙💚

He stopped by for a visit last night and was so absolutely gorgeous that he had to have a photo shoot, of course!

Adult Luna moths emerge from their cocoon without a functional mouth—they never eat. Instead, they live entirely off the energy they stored as caterpillars and typically survive only 7–10 days.

What a beautiful gift it was to share a moment with him during his one short week of life. 🙏

And perhaps his message:
“Be still enough to notice the beautiful things that land right in front of you.” 🌙💚🦋
