🚨 Anyone in SE New England with these crazy amounts of snow… make sure you clear snow from where your furnace vents! CO is a killer.

Don't let your outside generator get covered with snow. It could kill you and your family.

I got this message from a customer just yesterday:

Hi Barry. Just want to thank you so much for all your help and checking in last night. Not sure if we knew the solution when u were on phone w Anthony but Fire Dept came and the issue was the generator exhaust was covered w snow so it was blowing carbon monoxide inside. So scary but we shoveled it all out. That was a learning lesson in safety. They said it’s been going on everywhere in town w the generators. Thank God for detectors.

Seriously for your family's sake go check this right now.

Safety comes first !!!
Please make sure you shovel your flue vents that exit the side of your house if you have a high efficiency furnace or boiler. This is required for safety and efficient operation.
Check your neighbors as well!

Also please shovel around your outdoor heat pump condenser. Otherwise, they will shut down and/or operate very inefficiently.

Lots of snow and snow drifts equal lots of problems for heat pumps.
