With a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University, an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and a certification in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University, Lyndsae’ has built a career centered around empowering marginalized communities through financial education and inclusive financial services.  Currently Lyndsae' serves as the Kiva US Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Manager, Lyndsae’ and her team oversee a portfolio of over 1,000 entrepreneurial serving organizations named Kiva Trustees, 40+ community-based Kiva lending partners (Hubs), and their 45+ Capital Access Managers across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Her focus is on expanding access to no-fee, no-interest, crowdfunded financing in underserved communities.

Reteisha Byrd has a strong passion for community and economic development. Hailing from a rural Arkansas-Mississippi Delta community, Reteisha has a passion for entrepreneurship.  With a strong supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem, these entrepreneurs and small business owners begin accessing funding, mentorship, and technical assistance to grow and sustain their businesses. The impact of the ecosystem is that new jobs are created, additional revenue is being circulated in the community, and the overall community sees the benefits through increased tax revenue and services.

One of the biggest pain points for entrepreneurs is funding. We will be addressing this topic through the lens of ecosystem building. Often times entrepreneurs approach financing when it becomes a need.
