Menopause and the years leading up to menopause (perimenopause) can be turbulent times. In addition to hot flashes and insomnia, women can battle night sweats, mental fogginess, fatigue, lower s*x drive, weight gain and irritability. Yet they are often confronted with confusing advice on how to manage their symptoms.

Samantha McLean, MD and Meg Mack, CNM of Boulder Women's Care will answer common questions about menopause and perimenopause. They will then share evidence-based recommendations for managing hormonal changes.

Heat Advisory is in effect for Boulder County. With temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s today, it's important to take steps to protect yourself and those around you from heat-related illness.

Remember to:

💧 Stay hydrated by drinking water throughout the day.
❄️ Cool off in an air-conditioned space whenever possible.
☀️ Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day and wear sun protection if you're outside.

Check in on older adults, young children, neighbors and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat. If you or someone else experiences signs of heat stroke such as confusion, loss of consciousness, hot red skin or a body temperature of 103°F or higher, call 911 immediately.
