COTA for Kayla H

Kayla Healy, 23, born June 8, 1993, in Paradise, CA passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from complications as a result of Cystic Fibrosis and a double lung transplant performed on July 03, 2012.

Kayla was a cosmetologist and a nanny, and so much more. It is impossible to capture in words all that Kayla was. She was the best daughter, sister, family member, and friend that we could have ever asked for. Kayla was such a bright girl, had lots of spirit, was strong-willed, and was unshakable. She loved so deeply. Even when she was sick herself she would reach out and be a source of support and strength to others. The moment you met Kayla you realized what a special gift she was. She had a way of touching your heart immediately when you met her. (Sometimes while being a complete smart ass). She lived life to its fullest and treasured every breath. She put up one hell of a fight. We would all be lucky to have just one small amount of the strength and grit that Kayla showed us was possible. She will never stop being an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. We will truly miss her.

My niece Kayla Healy is so awesome! Transplant in June and Skiing in December!

Amazing, fabulous, spectacular results from the Mill Creek Women's Golf charity event. They raised $8,279 for Kayla! A gigantic thank you to the Mill Creek golfers and their friends.

Thanks to everyone who has posted positive thoughts for Kayla today! We are keeping positive and really hope that things move faster now. LUNGS COME SOON! Lets make sure Kayla doesn't get board in the hospital while she is waiting alone at Stanford (mom has to work in WA during the week)...send her some love!

Kayla Nicole Healy was admitted to the hospital last Thursday. She was air lifted to Stanford Hospital on Saturday night to await her new lungs where we believe she has the best chance of getting them. She is away from friends and family down there but is super strong and determined! We will keep you posted on her status.
