Workplaces often feel like a second home, and colleagues become like family. Over the years, we have lost several family members and in a close-knit community like ours, these losses are felt throughout campus.

In partnership with two talented woodworkers who volunteered countless hours (Cascadia College President, Eric Murray & community member, Mike Rue) and a very generous supporter (former Cascadia College employee, Lyn Eisenhour), the Foundation was able to support the creation of a beautiful bench honoring the memory of Rosa Pielle. Rosa worked in Cascadia’s Basic Education for Adults / College & Career Foundations (CCF) office for over 18 years.

We invite you to enjoy this special bench, placed in the LBA Annex where she worked. We have also started a scholarship in Rosa's honor. Learn more about her story here - https://secure.qgiv.com/for/rosa/.

Thank you again to Dr. Murray, Mike Rue, Lyn Eisenhour, and everyone who helped make this beautiful tribute possible.

ROSA'S BENCH. This bench is dedicated to Rosa Pielle (1986-2025).
This bench was crafted by local woodworkers from fir trees harvested on Cascadia's campus. We invite you to sit here in memory of Rosa, who served Cascadia for 18 years advocating for immigrant and adult learners in the College & Career Foundations program from 2007-2025.
