This month marked two years since opening KG Studios.

Two years ago I took a leap a faith and decided to follow a dream. I had zero knowledge behind owning a business. I knew exactly one thing.

Hair.

I knew it wouldn’t come easy, and it didn’t. There were many tears, many unpaid hours put in, and a few hard lessons. But I knew if I wanted it, it was possible.

Two years later and KG Studios is thriving, with many exciting plans for the future.

✨Salon Update✨

Hello beauties! I have been working extremely hard making some changes to KG Studios and I have a couple of announcements to share with you!

Before I jump into it, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of my clients who have continued to support my small business through a cancer diagnosis, maternity leave, and a PANDEMIC. 🤯 I opened KG Studios without knowing the first thing about running a business, but I had a dream in mind and you all believed in me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Starting 12/01/21 I will be implementing an updated service menu. I have worked extremely hard at making adjustments that I feel are fair while taking into consideration the increased costs of product in the industry, the amount of time each service takes, and the knowledge I have gained by investing in my education the last 7 years.

-Moving forward ALL blonding services will now be charged a flat rate of $100 an hour and categorized only by a full highlight vs. partial highlight. All blonding services include a base color if desired, gloss, a bond building treatment that will help maintain the integrity of your hair, followed by a blowout and style.

-Color services will now be categorized by a 4-6 week retouch or all over color and charged accordingly.

-Haircuts are now charged based on hair length and men’s cuts have been removed from the service menu.

-I have also extended the amount of time booked out for each service to ensure I can provide an exceptional guest experience every time you sit in my chair.

I am very excited about this change as I believe it will simplify booking and any questions regarding pricing.

Black box dye color correction. Let me be completely transparent, if you have years of black box dye on your hair, this is a realistic example of what your first session going lighter may look like. Usually the results are subtle. This transformation took 5 hours for a grand total of $500. (For my hair stylist friends- she lifted to a level 7 and we toned her down to a level 6 to cancel out as much warmth as possible.) Her hair is still in perfect condition, and we have another session to go lighter in 4 weeks. She has trusted me throughout the entire process and is using the entire Olaplex line as her hair care regimen. 🖤
