After several destructive cyclones stalled vaccination progress in Mozambique, a major recovery effort is underway. In late March, the latest “Big Catch-up” campaign reached 432,474 children who had missed their routine immunizations. JSI is proud to support the Ministry of Health in training teams and managing vaccine supplies to ensure every child is protected, regardless of the challenges. Reaching zero-dose and under-immunized children requires understanding not only whether an intervention worked, but how and why it did.
The JSI-led Zero-Dose Learning Hub has created a Theory-Based Evaluation Toolkit to help governments and partners design and evaluate immunization strategies using clear, explicit theories of change. Drawing on country learning from Bangladesh, Mali, Nigeria, and Uganda, the toolkit supports real-time learning, adaptation, and stronger decision-making.
