Thrilled to be part of Tune Supply's online workshop offerings this summer! Come join me and learn a few of my favorite short single reels.
(Why waste 16 bars when you can say it in a short, snappy 8 bar part, I say!)
Virtual Learning Summer 2026 Workshop #24:
Join Ellery Klein for her virtual workshop "Short and Sweet: The Drive, Lilt and Charm of Single Reels" on Sunday, August 16th @ 4pm ET!
Workshops are recorded, so you can register and receive the video afterwards even if you can't attend in person. The cost is "Pay What It's Worth To You" so all can attend. (But we can't run the program if most people only pay a dollar...so please support at the level you're able.) These workshops run with a minimum of ten registrants, so please sign up ASAP so we can plan!

Humours of Derrycrossane (G)—June 11, 2026 JIG THURSDAY
Another day, another tune associated with Clare piper Willie Clancy. who learned some of his treasured tunes from fiddle player Nell Galvin. Ellen AKA Nell McCarthy was born in 1887 near Kilmihil in West Clare, which is the parish where the very tiny Derrycrossane is located. This slip jig, “Humours of Derrycrossane” has a LOT of the Foxhurnter’s Jig in it… but it’s also got its own flavor. Thanks to Ellery Klein for playing it with us at Arts Collaborative Medford!

May’s Power Tune for the Powers Music School Irish Music Learner’s session on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 7-8:30 PM: the slide The Priest; or, Is it the Priest You Want?
We’ll play this at learner’s speed a few times at the start of the session, and it will go in a set with Going to the Well for Water.
