Native Plant of the Week: Canada anemone (Anemone canadensis) is a terrific groundcover that can handle dappled shade or sun and blooms its head off in late May/early June. The foliage is beautiful, too and its coverage keeps weeds in check. The movement of the leaves and little white flowers brings life to a quiet and shady corner of the garden (it's also known as windlfower, which makes sense when you see it sway in the breeze). If you've got a fair amount of space in a moist area and you can let it roam, Canada anemone has you covered.
